Palmeiras is out of Brazil Cup

Palmeiras played with presumption and did practically nothing. Sport with only one good player did a huge damage in Palmeiras, Romerito is his name, has played for 8 clubs in their career among Corinthians and Goiás without big attention. He arrived at Recife in the last year. On last Wednesday he shone more than everyone did 3 of 4 Sport’s goals.

For us it was a humiliation because we lost to a club of Northeast and lost the opportunity of to confirm our spot in Libertadores Cup, now is to wait to the Brasileirão.

But Romerito was humble to ask for Marcos‘ shirt:

I’m big Marcos‘ fan. He’s above of normal players, exceptional.

The truth Romerito is not so fan of Marcos. At least on the pitch because he scored 3 times (6′, 30′ and 41′) and all from his head. Summarizing Sport controlled all 1st half.

In the beginning Sport had a player sent off for pulling shirt of some palestrino. Palmeiras began playing well lost goals’ chances with Denílson, Makelele and Alex Mineiro.

Now Leão is gonna face off Inter Porto Alegre.

Like i had said in previous post Palmeiras reached the final with magnificent victory 2-0. 1st one the goalkeeper made a howler and 2nd one on the counter-attack El Mago finished São Paulo FC. Luxemburgo on 100th match as coach at Palestra Itália won for 84th time. For me Henrique was the best man on the pitch but São Marcos played very very well too.
Even journalists, players and team managers of both clubs tried to spread the “peace” among supporters. Unsuccessful because at half time someone threw pepper gas at são-paulino locker room.

The match began with all nervousness what is normal for every decisive match. Players missing passes, losing balls and with little creativity on midfield. As well as it had been in the 1st leg Palmeiras began with more possession ball and São Paulo FC using counter-attack.

At 22′ Léo Lima had shot the ball plainly and nobody bothered him but Ceni made a howler, a basic mistake.

At half time the confusion showed up. The São Paulo FC’s players hadn’t stayed at locker room because of someone threw pepper gas at it.

At 2nd half Palmeiras was dangerous on the counter-attack and São Paulo FC preferred the long-ball game and their power in the air.

After André Dias had received the red card Wendel on the counter-attack passed to Valdívia that put it the back of the net.

Right after the goal Palestra Itália had a blackout around 15 minutes later restarted the match but the game ended 2-0.

Now in the final of Paulistão we’re gonna face Ponte Preta that we already won at Palestra Itália by 2-1.

I’m gonna ask you what do you think when your team is losing by 2-0 and your goalkeeper, capitain and hero is sent off the pitch ? My team will lose by 4, 5 or 6 goals.
No when you speak about Palmeiras.

1st half

With guts and determination we changed the game after has started bad in game sufferred the goal – scored by Paulinho 16′ in a great play – and Marcos was sent off for kicking another player before the same player has kicked him and referee gave a penalty kick to Bragantino at 25′ that Nunes sent Diego Cavalieri the wrong way.

But our team got up and scored goals one at 36′ by Diego Souza then at 38′ César Gaúcho received a second yellow card for tackling Valdívia thereupon El Mago equalised the match. At 40′ Da Silva got a straight red card because he was the last man.

2nd half

At 49′ Leandro put it in the back of the net with a clinical finish thenceforth we keep ball possession. Then the referee gave us a penalty kick (mistakenly) that Léo Lima lose it but at 77′ Valdívia received a pass feinted the goalkeeper passed to Denílson and with open goal put it in the back of the net and at injury time 90 + 1′ former Bétis’ attacker scored again.
