Even though i live in Aracaju that is 2,187 kilometers from São Paulo i love this club. It’s sounds weird you support a club from other region but Palmeiras is national club very representative around whole country. I’m gonna tell you how i become a palestrino.
When i was a kid around 4-5 years-old the Palmeiras had a fabulous team financed by Parmalat. It had Evair (he was an idol in Atalanta), Edmundo (who later made a great job in Fiorentina, he also played in Napoli), Roberto Carlos, Antônio Carlos (also known as “Zago” in Rome when he played there ‘cos this is his last name), César Sampaio (in Europe he just got one club Deportivo La Coruña, capitain in World Cup ‘98), Edílson (he played in Benfica, world champion ‘02) and Zinho (world champion ‘94) all played by Brazilian team, between 93-94 Palmeiras won 8 titles among 2 Brasileirões and 2 Paulistões and at that moment i don’t have a club to support. So ‘cos that wonderful squad i became a Palmeiras’ supporter. Even today this squad was the best squad created in last 15 years.
